I am extremely excited for what is to come this school year. Finally a senior! It is so crazy to think that this is my last year in high school, I am super excited for this school year but with this excitement also comes with a lot of sadness. I am sad to wrap up the school year but am also very proud of everything I have accomplished throughout my time here at Ripon High. Reflecting on these past three years I have grown so much not only as a student but also an individual. As I was modifying my third person write up I was able to finally change the sentence “One of my goals is to stay in the leadership program for all four years.” to “I have been in the leadership program for all four years of high school.” It makes me very proud to be able to change this sentence because it is a goal I have had set for myself since freshman year. It is so bittersweet to think that I will be receiving my legacy stool this year because I have dreamed of it since freshman year but I am also so sad to receive it because it means my time here at Ripon HIgh is over. This year in leadership I am Senior class publicity officer and I have already had so much fun in my role. I would love to pursue a job in content management when I am older and being able to make posts and run the class account has given me a lot of practice and I absolutely love being able to bring my own creative design to the class account and come up with new ideas and templates to use and post on the account. I can’t wait to see what comes with this year and I am so excited to finish my high school years off strong!!

Quotes
“To live for the hope of it all.” -Taylor Swift
These are lyrics in one of my favorite songs, and I absolutely love this line because it indicates the pure excitement and joy that hope brings you. When you feel like things may not work out or life isn’t going the way you want to, you have hope. Hope is what keeps us going, and this line means living in the idea of hope that there is always something to look forward to.
“There is no rainbow without the rain.”
I absolutely love this quote because it reminds me that we have to face hardships and struggles before we can get what we want. Struggling in life is inevitable and it is what makes those good times just as good.
“Whatever you do, do it with love.”
This quote is one of my favorites because it shows we can do whatever we want and we are all different and do different things, but we all have the ability to love. So whatever you may be doing, just do it with love. Lead with love and love others and you will be set.

One of the biggest role models in my life would have to be my mom. My mom is so incredibly strong and balances so much in her life. Not only does she have a lot of characteristics that I hope to have one day she also has taught me everything I know. From advice on friendships to telling me what I need to hear she has always been there and taught me life lessons. I hope that when I get older that I can be someone who is always there for the people I care about and as reliable as my mom has been to me. I hope to be as compassionate and caring about others as my mom is. Everyday I try to be a little more selfless because that is exactly how she is.

I think my inner animal would be a bunny. As they are wild and crazy and like to do their own things they are also very sweet and loving. I would not be a rabbit but I would be a bunny. Rabbits are a little more angry and not as sweet as a bunny is and for that reason I would have to specifically be a bunny. Bunnies like to wander around and be alone sometimes but when it is time for them to be around other people they are super affectionate and I feel like that kind of describes how I am. I like to do things on my own, but once I am around a group of people I can quickly open up and enjoy being around them.

Taylor Swift's song "Never Grow Up" is such a relatable anthem for those of us who want to hold onto our youthful spirit and resist the pressures of growing up. The song captures the bittersweet feeling of wanting to stay in the carefree moments of childhood, where responsibilities and worries were far away. It reminds us to cherish the innocence and wonder of being young, and to embrace the joy and freedom that comes with it. Whenever you listen to that song, it's like a reminder to stay true to yourself and hold onto the playful and adventurous side of life. So, keep embracing your inner child, Ava, and let the magic of being young stay with you.

After being in leadership for 4 years I have made a lot memories and have a lot of memories that I cherish deeply but I would say one of my favorite things about being in leadership is the bonds that have been created and being able to cherish such weird moments with people I would have never grew so close with before leadership. There are so many moments in leadership where I sit back and think to myself “what in the world is going on?” But I am able to look at some of my closest friends and just laugh about it which makes it so so much fun. I have created everlasting friendships with people in the leadership class that I will forever be so grateful for. We have created bonds that no one else will understand because the things that you face and deal with in leadership are things you can’t explain to anyone else.

A peer that I would like to reflect on in the leadership program would be miss Emme Wilbur. Emme works so hard for her class and you can truly see how much she has grown since last year. Emme has been faced with so many challenges yet she always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude walking into class. I am so thankful to say that Emme is one of my close friends and I am so lucky to have someone like her in my life. She has such a bright personality and seriously can not wait to see what the future hold for her.

In the leadership program there are several things that we do to maintain professionalism and to practice professionalism that will prepare us for the real world. These practices help us maintain professionalism inside and outside of the program and will not only help us in the current moment but will be extremely beneficial in the future as well. Some examples of what we do in the program would be our public speeches and our mock interviews. For our speeches we either pick our own speech topic or pull a topic out of a hat where we then write a speech and then later on recite it in front of the class. Public speaking is probably one of the most important skills to learn especially when it comes to professional and the real world so when we are doing our speeches each year it is great practice and is helping us build up our confidence and professionalism when we speak in front of large groups. It also teaches us all about eye contact, body language, and how to dress appropriately considering those are all things that we are graded on. Another example of a task we do to help create professionalism is the Mock interviews. In mock interviews we pick a job that we are interested in and then “apply” for it. We write a resume, cover letter, and interview with the professional to see if we get the “job.” Mock interviews teach us how to write resumes and cover letters and how to prepare for interviews in a professional matter. They give us a look into the real world and are a huge benefit.

I have truly enjoyed this year as a leader a lot. It is so crazy to look back on this year because I genuinely believe that I have grown so much as not only a leader but also an individual. Coming into this year it was crazy to think that I was an upperclassman, I was finally one of the “big kids.” Reflecting back on this past year there have been many ups and downs but I feel as if my freshman and sophomore year prepared me for a lot. I faced a lot of challenges this year where I was stabbed in the back, but it really didn’t trip me up much because I knew exactly how to handle this situation. From this challenge I actually gained a lot, I grew closer with those around me and made new friends because they saw what was happening and I could not be more thankful for the friendships and bonds I know have because of everything I have been through. It is crazy when you start to see good things happen to good people. There have been many frustrations in the class when people are not holding up their end of the work and things fall on you, but it truly makes you stronger because you know what to do and unfortunately it just prepares you for the real world. Advice that I would give to the incoming freshman and next years leadership program is to not take everything so seriously. Yes, it is so important to get things done and stay on top of everything we need to do but when we finish that dance, rally, or event it is extremely important that we reward ourselves and just have fun. When minor things occur in the class we need to “Not sweat the small stuff.” and just keep going with our lives. The more we dwell on things in the classroom the more divided we will become and it is so so important that as a class we stay connected and feel as if we can truly rely and trust one another. Without trust all everything will fall apart and we will not be able to put on these amazing events. With that being said we can avoid all of these problems if we take things more lightly and have more fun with one another.

An ideal leader is someone who strikes a perfect balance between vision and action. They inspire others with their passion and dedication, setting clear goals while also being open to new ideas and different perspectives. A true leader listens and communicates effectively, fostering a sense of trust and respect within their team. They lead by example, demonstrating integrity and fairness in every decision. With a blend of confidence and humility, they motivate their team to achieve their best, while also caring for their well-being. They’re adaptable, able to to navigate challenges with grace, and they always stay committed to their values. By balancing empathy with accountability, an ideal leader guides their team towards success while also encouraging personal growth and collaboration.
