Going into the 2021-2022 school year I have a lot of goals I hope to accomplish and many things that I am looking forward to. I am very motivated going into this school year and eager to learn. Some of my goals consist of, containing a 4.0 or higher the whole entire school year, making genuine connections and bonds with my fellow classmates and teachers, practicing and performing to the best of my ability in cheerleading, and many other things. This school year I am excited to put myself out there a lot more and meet and connect with new people. I am looking forward to getting to know my teachers a lot better and making genuine connections with them as well as my classmates. I look forward to getting involved and changing Ripon High for the absolute better. This year at Ripon High I am a part of the leadership team for the Next Chapter Book Club which I am extremely excited about. I am very eager to encourage other classmates to join the club and get involved as much as they possibly can here at Ripon High. I also made the varsity cheer team at Ripon High this year which was a huge accomplishment for me. I am so insanely proud of myself and all the work I put in to get on Varsity. Through cheerleading and leadership I am looking forward to showing insane school spirit and encouraging other students to show that same school spirit and excitement as well. Overall, I am clearly super excited about this school year and I can’t wait to show off my school spirit, ace all my classes, and be a leader to the people around me.

Ava Keast is a sophomore at Ripon High School who has many hopes and dreams. Ava strives to be the absolute best version of herself daily and hopes that she can put a smile on every single person's face at Ripon High School. Ava is currently on the varsity cheerleading team at Rhs and is about to start her first year of competitive cheerleading at Ripon high. She also is the secretary of the United Christian club at Ripon high and she is on the leadership team for the Next chapter book club. Along with being involved in many clubs at Ripon High, Ava also has been in the leadership program at Rhs and hopes to stay in the program her next two years in high school as well. Ava has already achieved many of her goals, but of course she has a lot more to check off her list. She hopes to attend the University of Hawaii or UC Santa Barbara. Like stated before, another dream of Ava’s is to continue in the leadership program the next two years of her high school career. Another goal of hers is to maintain straight A’s all throughout high school although it may be hard she wants to push herself to achieve that goal. Achieving these goals are just the beginning, but Ava is sure that she will continue to push herself to be the best version of herself she can be.

I have a lot of favorite memories. Whether they are little silly things that really wouldn’t seem like much of a memory to someone else or a big monumental thing that has happened in my life I tend to have a lot. One of my favorite memories by far would be when me, my best friend emily, and my friend kate swam in the ocean at midnight during a full mood. I sometimes can be a big scaredy cat so swimming in the ocean definitely wouldn’t be my first option, but overcoming that fear and just staring at the bright white full moon was just so peaceful. It was a time of truly living in the moment and not thinking about the future or the past. Another one of my favorite memories would be when I babysat my baby cousin with my friend and she missed her mom and she wouldn’t leave my side and all she wanted was to hug me. Although this was pretty sad because she was crying it’s one of my favorite memories because I never grew up with little siblings and no girls but knowing that I now have a little girl cousin who looks up to me and loves me is the best feeling ever. And finally my other favorite memory is going night swimming with my friend emily at like 1 am. This is one of the smaller memories that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but to me it was so much fun because we were just laughing and living in the moment not worrying about the slightest thing, and were just genuinely happy.

Someone in this class who I think represents a good role model and leader would be Emma Phelps. I feel this way because not only is she respectful, kind, bold, and on top of everything she does but she also takes time to talk to her peers and she doesn’t act like she is better than anyone else. She is raw and honest and tells people when she needs help but also isn’t afraid to stand up for the people around her and what she believes is right. Therefore I think Emma phelps is a great representation of a leader and a great role model for younger kids around Ripon High.

18. I have many hobbies. Some of them include; going to the beach, cheer, drinking good coffee, eating good food, hanging out with my friends, and playing with my dog. My happy place is the beach. I enjoy going to different beaches with my family and friends. I recently went to Aptos with Katie and we boogie boarded. I have been cheering my whole life and it is one of my favorite things to do. Cheering is one of the only activities where I feel comfortable and confident. I love trying new coffee. My favorite thing is to go to cute coffee shops and try different drinks. I love cute little coffee shops near the beach and getting a little sandwich or bagel at the shop. My friends make everything better. I spend most of my time with my friends and they make everything so much better. I have two dogs and I love playing with them. They are so cute and they make me so happy.
19. Dear Mom & Dad,
Thank you so much for everything you do for me. No matter what, you drop everything and take care of me. You never hesitate to help me when I ask. You have given up so much for me to be able to achieve my dreams. Thank you for bringing me lunch whenever I ask and for driving me wherever I need to go. You guys encourage me to do whatever I want to do and I don’t tell you enough how much I appreciate you guys. Thank you so much. I love you.
PAGE 20-Dear Next years rally commissioner, here is some advice going into next year. When planning the rallies do it ahead of time so you can not only get as much practice needed but also adjust and be as creative as possible. When hosting the rally it is your responsibility and job to set the mood of the rally, if you have low energy and aren’t that hype the student body is going to reciprocate the same emotions so give as much energy as possible. Also, during rallys there are a lot of things that could potentially go wrong so with that being said make sure you always expect the unexpected and know what to do if something doesn’t go quite as planned. I know you will do great next year. Best wishes, Ava Keast

PAGE 25- Change is not always looked upon as the most favorited thing, but I definitely think that change is a great thing. At first, change scared me and I didn’t like it, but growing up I have realized that change is good. Although it may definitely be a huge step out of your comfort zone that is what allows you to grow and become the person you are today. Without change your life would be consistent and you would never be able to learn from things and figure out what you enjoy and what you do not enjoy in life. Change allows you to open up new doors and look into things you may have never even thought of. Change is the main doorway to growth and if you are not growing in life than what are you even doing? In life you want to find your purpose and figure out what you are good at and what you are made to do here on this earth and if you never were to step out of your comfort zone and allow change to happen in your life you would not be able to find those things that you are made to be doing because you would never end up discovering what was behind the door that you never opened. Looking at change as a good thing even when it really does not feel like it should be is a huge deal and is a huge accomplishment. When you look at change as a good thing you will open up even more doors and create tons of new opportunities for yourself. And who would not want that? So, instead of looking at change as a bad thing remind yourself that change leads to so many good things and what else would you want in life besides good things. Although, you may have to step over some awkwardness to achieve that goodness. Why not?
